About The Team

Steria Consulting was founded in 2021 by Fran Adnams and Gina Turner. With a combined experience, nearing 40 years in the construction industry, they have a wealth of experience in design, management, problem solving, and provision of support and advice on projects of varying scale and detail. Fran and Gina previously worked together for 10 years for the East Anglian office of a specialist Structural Engineering practice, setting up Steria Consulting to enable them to provide a reliable and friendly service, with the enthusiasm and quality their clients have come to expect.

 
Fran Adnams  - Meng (Hons) CEng MICE

Fran Adnams Meng (Hons) CEng MICE

Since qualifying with a Masters degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2007, Fran has worked both as a site manager and a consultant structural engineer; creating repair and work schedules, undertaking extensive survey and design work, and co-ordinating and managing construction projects from tender through to completion.

Fran worked in New Zealand, managing repair works on two heritage sites in the centre of Christchurch, following the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes.

Key specialisms:

Both Fran and Gina have expertise in conservation and listed building advice, structural alterations, residential extensions and alterations, and residential and condition surveys and reporting. In addition, Fran has the following specialist areas of expertise:

  • Advising on party wall notices

  • Institution of Civil Engineers training and mentorship (Fran is an approved Supervising Civil Engineer and Mentor)

Gina Turner

A consultant structural engineer with over 20 years’ wide-ranging experience in residential and commercial property, including: surveys and listed building advice, the refurbishment of redundant agricultural buildings; maintenance of Churches and Ancient Monuments; and barn conversions, including medieval timber frames and concrete portal frames.

Gina was a consultant for the Principality advising on the planning and construction of an artificial island in the United Arab Emirates.

Both Fran and Gina have expertise in conservation and listed building advice, structural alterations, residential extensions and alterations, and residential and condition surveys and reporting. In addition, Gina has the following specialist areas of expertise:

  • Advising on the repair of and alterations to timber-framed buildings

  • Finding new uses for and adapting the structure of agricultural buildings e.g. Class Q and barn conversion

Charlie Hart ACIAT
Technician/Apprentice Engineer

Charlie joined the Steria team in July 2022, with experience working on historic, new build and refurbishment projects of varying sizes and an understanding of Building Regulations and compliance. 

He brings knowledge from working in both engineering and architectural consultancies. With an HND in Construction and The Built Environment, he is currently working toward a BSc in Civil Engineering under the ICE Apprenticeship scheme and has aspirations of becoming charted as both an Engineer and Technologist.

Charlie supports Gina and Fran undertaking structural detailing including reinforced concrete, steelwork, modern timber and traditional framing, and managing projects through the Planning and Listed Building Application process.
