The building had been suffering from continual water ingress during periods of heavy rainfall. Steria Consulting was appointed to review investigations and reports that had been carried out, and to advise on any further investigations, providing a specification for remedial works.

There was extensive cracking to the brickwork of the building, and carbonisation of the concrete lintels. Recommendations included: A programme of localised rebuilding of brickwork, including stitch repairs; breaking out the concrete lintels to introduce additional rebar with specialised Sika concrete repairs by Concrete Renovations Ltd; complete refurbishment of the facade to prevent water ingress and degrading of the building elements.

Client quote: “Steria consulting provided structural advice and drawings for our external refurbishment project for our building that had water ingress issues due to failing concrete. I am very grateful for their expertise in this area, allowing us to move forward with this project when issues arose. They were very accommodating, communicating with me and the main contractor, and were always on hand when required, They worked professionally throughout the project.”
