Grade II Farmhouse, Suffolk:
Investigation of decayed timers and cracking to external render

Steria Consulting were appointed to investigate the extent of repairs to the timber framed building that had been rendered with cement.

The client was provided with options for the repairs and a phased replacement of the render.

Steria Consulting then submitted a Listed Building application for the replacement materials and a philosophy of repairs.

The oak frame was repaired with traditional jointing methods and incorporated a wood fibreboard externally with ‘Best of Lime’ render, and we attended site to advise and instruct the extent of repairs as each frame was exposed.
